2,222 push-ups, every day, for the estimated 22 veterans lost to suicide each day.
Every day, Chef Rush performs 2,222 push-ups — a physical act of remembrance for the estimated 22 veterans lost to suicide each day.
An estimated 22 veterans die by suicide every day. Chef Rush answers that number with one of his own: 2,222 push-ups, every single day, so the count is never allowed to fade into the background.
The mission is personal. It was set in motion in part by the loss of a fellow soldier to suicide in 2011 — a reminder that behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that mattered. The daily count is a promise to keep showing up for the ones still here.
The mission is more than a daily count. It is organized as a registered nonprofit, with partners and a purpose that reaches beyond the ranks.

A partner in USAA's Face the Fight, a coalition confronting veteran suicide head-on and working to move the country toward zero.
Beyond veterans: mentoring underprivileged kids, standing against bullying, and speaking openly about mental health.
You don’t have to do 2,222. You just have to start. Commit to a daily push-up count, keep the streak, and stand with the mission — every rep is a signal that someone is paying attention.

Every gift goes toward the mission’s work — veteran suicide awareness, the USAA Face the Fight coalition, and the wider support for kids and mental health that 2222INC carries. This isn’t symbolic. It funds the fight.
